In somewhat surprising news, legendary pioneer MJ Cole announced on social media yesterday a new residency on Rinse FM!
It’s fair to say the big man sits somewhere outside of UK Garage these days, releasing at increasingly sporadic moments. At least in terms of engagement with his fanbase, he’s found a niche via his focus in recent years – livestreaming studio sessions via Twitch on Wednesday evenings, which run alongside a regular remix competition hosted on his Audius page.
It’s therefore a pleasant development to hear him back on the airwaves, actively showcasing new music from his peers & collaborators.
Of course, one can reasonably deduce that this has come with a view to promoting of future 892 Recordings releases… & that’s certainly something that excites everyone here at NUKG 24/7.
